VIFCA is the first and only arbitration centre of the Vietnam International Financial Centre (VIFC). Together with the Specialised Court, VIFCA forms part of the dispute resolution bodies of the VIFC, with its head office located within the International Financial Centre in Ho Chi Minh City. VIFCA has jurisdiction to resolve, by arbitration and commercial mediation in accordance with the law, disputes arising from investment, business and commercial activities where the parties have so agreed.
The establishment of VIFCA marks an important step in the development of the legal infrastructure and dispute resolution mechanisms serving the Vietnam International Financial Centre. As Vietnam continues to promote the development of internationally competitive financial, commercial and legal institutions, VIFCA is expected to contribute to strengthening the confidence of investors, businesses and the legal community in Vietnam’s dispute resolution landscape.
On 19 May 2026, the Ministry of Justice issued Decision No. 1284/QD-BTP on the issuance of the Establishment Licence for an arbitration centre in Vietnam, together with Establishment Licence No. 55/BTP/GP of the same date. These instruments record Mr Nguyen Manh Dzung as the President of the International Arbitration Centre under the International Financial Centre in Vietnam (VIFCA) and one of its Founders.
Mr Nguyen Manh Dzung is widely recognised as one of Vietnam’s leading arbitration and commercial mediation practitioners, with more than 30 years of experience in the resolution of commercial, maritime, investment, construction, energy, logistics, insurance, M&A and international disputes. He has acted in various capacities in arbitral proceedings, including as counsel, sole arbitrator, co-arbitrator and presiding arbitrator in both domestic and international cases.
In addition to his practical experience, Mr Dzung has made significant contributions to the development of Vietnam’s legal framework for arbitration, mediation and dispute resolution. He has participated in legislative and institutional reform initiatives relating to the Law on Commercial Arbitration 2010, commercial mediation, arbitral procedural guidelines, and dispute resolution mechanisms serving the Vietnam International Financial Centre.
Alongside Mr Nguyen Manh Dzung, VIFCA was founded by a team of experienced and highly regarded arbitrators, lawyers and experts in law, arbitration, commerce and dispute resolution, namely Ms Dinh Anh Tuyet, Mr Nguyen Trung Nam, Mr Le Net, Mr Le Nguyen Gia Thien and Mr Luong Van Trung. The participation of these Founders demonstrates that VIFCA is built on a diverse professional foundation, combining experience in legal practice, academia, legal consultancy, dispute resolution and international commerce.
With the close guidance of the competent authorities, the support of domestic and international professional bodies, and the dedicated contributions of its reputable and experienced Founders, VIFCA is expected to develop into an independent, professional, trustworthy and internationally aligned arbitration institution. It is anticipated to serve effectively the dispute resolution needs of investors, businesses and other participants in the Vietnam International Financial Centre.
